The Library Media Center  is the informational, instructional, and curricular hub of Highland Lakes.  It provides ready access to books, reference materials, multimedia software, and the Internet to support the school community.  The services, technology, and programs of the onMedia will aid students in cultivating the qualities of good citizenship, respect, and academic achievement.  Students will become self-motivated and life-long learners.

In addition to reading aloud to children and connecting them to great books, the teacher/librarian will also help students to:

* perform readers' theater,

* develop research strategies,

* learn library skills,

* use the computer as a learning tool, and

* share and discuss favorite books.

The Library Media Center features over 19,000 titles for students in grades kindergarten through eighth.  The collection represents award-winning books, picture books, chapter books, reference materials, biographies, non-fiction books, and periodicals.  We currently have 16 computers available for general use, research, and Internet access.
